Inspired by the Roots of New Orleans, Jambalaya brilliantly combines equisite Cajun cuisine, a tasty rotating beer and wine list, and tops it off with live soulful jazz and blues every Friday and Saturday night. "Walking into Jambalaya is like walking onto the streets of New Orleans" is what customers say. "It's whimsical and so cozy." From the Bayou Patio, to the Sassy French Quarters, where Bourbon Street meets Mardi Gras, it's all at Jambalaya.

I really like this place I love what they have done with all the old Jazz and Blues records on the walls and ceiling.
They have great music and the Food is very good.
Just a fun place to come eat drink and listen to Music
The music can be a bit loud and the tables are not that great for listing but with the space they have its the best they can do
They have a nice outside Patio I recomend that if the weather permits

Milk based cheddar broccoli soup served barely tepid.Crayfish salad with honey mustard dressing inedible. I returned it graciously only to find they charged me for it on my final bill and refused to refund our money. Service appeared to be blatantly GLBT unfriendly. Customer beware. I will never return. Nasty.

From the Bayou? Jambalaya? From the Bayou? Jambalaya?
It's the same address. It's the same decor. It's a lot of the same menu. Not that anyone is complaining.
Located in the "historical Garfield District" (seriously? Historical Parkland?), Jambalaya is Tacoma's premier, nay, only, cajun restaurant. It's unhealthy, ample, and fun. It's the best-decorated restaurant in town. Call it zombie chic. Sort of half way between Dr. John, Tom Waits and a corpse.
Start your meal with their delicious jalapeno cornbread muffins. There's plenty of 'em, and each one of them is a delicious heart attack unto itself. There's a range of entrees, from po'boys all the way up to steak. I haven't heard great things about the steak - stick with the small stuff. I sampled both the catfish and oyster po'boy, and they receive my endorsement as well as my southern-bred companion's.
Service is friendly. It's a shame that this place never seems to have anyone in it. Some of the upper-end dishes, I've heard, aren't so hot so maybe that's made bad word-of-mouth. I'm hoping it's just J-Term at PLU, because even though Jambalaya ain't perfect, these are nice people and it's the only Cajun joint in town.
Surely, if Lucky Teriyaki #75641 can make it...

Although the wait staff is fairly accommodating, the owner is not. This is not a customer friendly place. I miss the former owners who knew how to treat guests.
