A rare screening of "Taking Root", the award-winning doc about the life of Nobel Prize winning Radical Woman and GreenBelt movement founder, Wangari Maathi.
Her simple act of planting trees grew into a nationwide movement to safeguard Kenya's environment, protect human rights, and defend democracy.
Wangari died last year, and we celebrate her life and work on this special evening hosted by TreeSisters, a global network of women continuing Wangari's great work to reforest the tropics.
