Baby Gramps

Folk, Blues, Jazz
The Van Gogh of Americana Music Baby Gramps mixes the myth-making mystique of a traveling troubadour of the past with an incredible array of musical influences ranging from the blues, folk, country, jazz, ragtime, sea shanties and other sounds from around the world. According to Seattle Metropolitan Magazine, Baby Gramps is one of the 50 most influential musicians of the last 100 years. Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs, and Chanteys a two-CD set produced by Hal Willner and Johnny Depp, brought the name Baby Gramps into the homes of those who bought the collection for its rare and one-off Bono, Sting, Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright, Richard Thompson, Bryan Ferry, Lou Reed, Martin Carthy, and others. Yet, with all that star power, it was the Gramps track, “Cape Cod Girls” that got top billing (side one, cut one). He’s also the artist they sent to The Late Show with David Letterman to plug the CD. This motley crew including Baby Gramps, Tim Robbins (actor), and Shane McGowan took the CD on tour in England, Ireland, and Australia. In recent years Baby Gramps participated in 7 films including a jug band documentary, a “Louie Louie” documentary, and an update of the academy award nominated film “Streetwise”.

Mary Flower

Folk, Blues, Acoustic
Mary Flower is a world-class fingerstyle guitarist and lap slide player who swings the blues. The Piedmont style forms the foundation of much of her work, but she’s an unrivaled interpreter of Mississippi blues and a composer in her own right, whose tunes take American music into uncharted waters. She’s a warm singer who ranges far in the byways of blues and jazz for the kind of down-home yet sophisticated material with which she feels comfortable.
