From their days playing together as teenagers to their current acoustic and electric blues, probably no one has more consistently led American music for the last 50 years -- yes! -- than Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady, the founders and continuing core members of Hot Tuna & Jefferson Airplane.
At first Hot Tuna used to open Airplane concerts and afforded Kaukonen and Casady the opportunity to further explore and develop their love of traditional blues music. As Jefferson Airplane slowly wound down in the early 1970s, the splinter group, to whom live performance was always of prime importance, became a new musical entity in its own right. Come celebrate 50 years of these legendary musicians.
