Eagle's Hall

I have been doing music, dance and community meeting events in Olympia for over 30 years and in the last 10 years at least 35 events in the Eagles Ballroom and other floors. The Ballroom space is more beautiful than almost any venue in Thurston County. Yes, it shows a bit of it's age, but the beautiful wood floor, chandelier, 14 foot ceilings, new tables, plumbing fixtures, chairs and always fair treatment have our groups happy to return again and again. The 14" tall 25'x10' stage is top notch too. If we have a very special event, we plan more than adequate preparation and cleaning help for afterward.

We held our annual Illuminated Ball at the Eagles. We have been renting there for 9 years and every year it seems to get better. The staff are wonderful at accommodating our needs. We love the space and it is truly one of the best dance floors in Olympia. With the tall ceilings we are able to bring in all of our performance art. Afterwards, dancing is so much fun in the grand old space.

So we decided to rent the ballroom for our wedding, and had already paid a deposit of $250.00 and signed a contract with them. After their new facilities director was hired, she contacted my wife trying to raise the deposit to $500.00. When we arrived to set up we had to clean mold and gunk from the fridges so we could use them. There were at least 6 broken tables and one of them collapsed during our reception, (Emberassing)and we were there until 12:30pm cleaning so we would get our deposit back. 3 weeks later we get a phone call from the facilities director telling us she has sent a partial deposit back to us, because she spent $150.00 hiring somebody to come in and clean. When we asked for a copy of the bill and a copy of our signed contract she became boligerantly upset and I had to hang up the phone. TWO THUMBS DOWN, MINUS 4 STARS, and good luck if you decide to use this venue for anything! Oh, by the way, The facilities director told me when we were setting up that they are in debt, $40,000.
