It is fall once again, and so once again, Temple Beth Hatfiloh is trying to satiate the wistful, nostalgic feelings we all get at this time of year: the longing for the old days, good times, filled with music and dancing and those foods that you just can't seem to find any more.
We're talking Jewish Deli sandwiches piled high with kosher corned beef on real rye bread, with homemade coleslaw and crunchy kosher pickles, and sauerkraut and mustard ... washed down with Dr Brown's Cel-Ray soda (for realz! - other flavors and kinds of beverages will also be available).
And for dessert, we have, homemade in Edie's Kitchen, babka and strudel and all sorts of treats that Bubbe still makes here at TBH.
Did I mention the klezmer music? From Minsk to Seattle to Olympia, Rabbi Mirel's Shalom Ensemble, playing all those Old World favorites that will get everyone up on the dance floor (after you've cleaned your plate, of course!)
Tickets are available in advance, so purchase yours now and save a few dollars (and then you won't have to worry, either), $18 in advance (contact Edie Bean (360) 352-1533 edieschlepps@aol.com) or $20 at the door, doors open at 4:30 pm, event is over at 7 p.m., see you then!
